Welcome to the website of Deborah Coltham Rare Books, specialist dealer in rare Antiquarian Books on science and medicine. My aim is to stock rare and significant books, manuscripts and ephemeral items, in a range of subjects, primarily in first or early editions, and both in the original language or translation. My stock will usually include works from across the centuries, though with an emphasis upon books from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. Books by or about women are a particular area of interest. Having a fascination with the weird and the wonderful I occasionally offer more obscure material, such as medical medallions and tokens, medical teaching aids and scientific instruments. I am a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association and of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, and issue regular illustrated and fully annotated catalogues and lists, which are sent out on request. I exhibit at a number of major international book fairs, including California, London and New York. Not all the books that I have in stock are listed on this website. If there are any books or subjects that you are particularly looking for please do not hesitate to contact us. Images of any books may be sent upon request.
